We make an extra charge of £15 for these to cover laundry and breakfast A travel cot or extra bed will fit in all the bedrooms though not really feasible in rooms 2 and 5 Room 7 (which has its own separate entrance) has a separate twin bedded annex room 7a and room 6 has a sofa bed in its Sitting Room annex. Dogs policy We are dog lovers and the pub even has its own called Jake. However in the bedrooms we only allow well behaved dogs in room 8 – we also may make a small charge for extra cleaning of £10 We would love to allow dogs in all the rooms (particularly for shooters) but however thorough our housekeeping is (and we are VERY thorough!) one small hair could be left and this can cause complaints from guests without dogs. Dogs are allowed in all the public areas downstairs and we provide water where desired! In Room Massage You can arrange directly with Arabella, a fantastic, highly qualified masseur, to have a relaxing Indian head or a facial/ foot reflexology massage in the privacy of your bedroom. Massage with Arabella Sitting room This old Tythe barn, with its five hundred year-old beams beams infilled with lathe and plaster, has been tastefully restored to its former glory and now houses a Sitting Room with: comfy sofas and armchairs, a selection of daily papers, monthly magazines and books from our library, and a large dining table that can seat up to 12. On Sunday nights we sometimes screen popular TV programs on a giant projector system so locals and guests can watch in a communal friendly environment. Painted on the wall is a mural by local artists Fleur Kelly and Diana Byrne depicting the “magic” of the Mells area with its wealth of history in the arts, literature and commerce. Beginning with pre-historic Longbarrows, the mural takes us through Roman hill forts and medieval castles, on to the early industrial revolution with local iron works, mining and quarrying. The journey continues past Royalist and Cromwellian battles, through the origins of internationally known nursery rhymes portraying idyllic times of romantic tranquillity, on to the relatively recent work of the renowned architect Edward Lutyens and so to the present day. Private Hire The Sitting Room can be privately hired at certain times and you will have full use of the digital projector & audio system. Please call 01373 812254 for more info.
